Do you not just need the padding only ? http://cgi.ebay.de/Mittelarmlehne-Mercedes-G-Modell-Paar-versch-Far... Mike

I think the padding is the number 346 thats is the tolding armrest. 348 is the cover and 344 the complete set. You can buy parts. I only did not understand why they ask material and color when you chose the padding , it cant include the cover because it cost less than cover in sites. Thanks for help. My driver's armrest just bit the dust in a similar fashion a bit further up the forearm. I, too, broke the rotating mechanism in the arm rest. The padded portion is all that was required to repair it, as the rotating mechanism is moulded into the pad. The other parts in the diagram can be reused, although you'll probably have to cut the leather cover a bit to to get it on and off. The back end of the cover has an interlocking fastener. I used to have a pictorial on how to fix this. I'll see if I can find it. If not, Vlad has it and will supply if you buy the part from him.

Yeah, the rotating mechanism still works, it's the arm itself that now is a bit "saggy" and flexible - and I heard a distinct plasticy-sounding "pop" when it broke. So it's not a firm, straight rest anymore... I think it's because my car alarm (pictured) puts too much weight on the armrests when they're in the down position. Yup. Mine didn't like the 260 lb driver leaning on it to better position himself on the seat. PS - I can't find the instruction to repair it. Contact Vlad.

A 460 guy in Denver that PM'd me a week or two ago to talk potential 617A swap and take my truck for a ride. When checking out his 280, he introduced me to his English Bulldog "Otis" who was chilling in the loadspace. Very cool pooch, and another good G friend. Being not a real cell phone guy I forgot to take a picture. Maybe he'll pipe up. -Dave G.

Got the new foam and plastic part from Euro Truck. It works great now. As I remember you have to take off the back panel on the seat, removal is straight forward. The leather cover on mine was a tight fit on the new foam and I had to cut a stitch or two to get it fitted and broke out the needle and thread to snug it up after it was back together.

Stripped the foam from the plastic, making room for the patch, didn't cut foam completely off. Connected two parts back togheter with steel patch riveted to the plastic. Works perfectly already 5-7 years. I didn't bother gluing the foam back as the textile cover keeps everything nicely in original shape.

Mine appears unrepairable as it broke right down the edge of the rotating mechanism. Guess I'll have to train the car alarm not to stand there anymore! Get a new core; and all the hardware and cover can be reused.

From ace hardware: 1 3/8x48 steel flat slotted bar (25) 8-18x3/4” self tapping screws Other tools needed: Screw gun Something to cut the metal The fabric came off fairly easily I peeled the foam off by hand and ended up removing all of it to make the repair really sting and permanent. I measured the length by laying it on the arm rest and found thirty holes was the right length I started at the long end of the top and worked my way down around the curve and to the bottom effectively stretching the metal with each screw I initially put a screw in the rounded end that houses the flip down mechanism. Don’t do this as the screw will interfere with the foldability Then found 20 holes in the metal would be the correct length to reinforce the inner plastic and attached that the same way I uses high strength 3m spray glue to reattach the foam and stenched the fabric back on
