Some searching didn't find one. Thanks, It's a pretty simple job. I did it without any "how To" available. You do need to do a toe-in adjustment once installed.

I'd suggest replacing the whole tie rod, and the whole pan hard bar while you're at it. Not just ends. I think it's worth the extra $ for smoothness at freeway speeds.

The tie rod comes with both ball joints. Attached are a couple of shots of the one for my 2000 G500. You really need to check with your VIN to see if it's the same. The Tie Rod 463 330 03 03 (or 04 03) is the one specified for my truck. It appears that it's the same one you have pictured above, Dutch. The Drag Link is 463 463 04 15, and I have a brand new one. I also have a brand new steering shock in hand (actually two of them), 240 460 01 66 (which is shared with the Maybach 57 sedan). So, it appears that I need to get the Tie Rod complete assembly from MB.

I will get a new front Panhard rod while I'm at it. Unfortunately I ordered two years ago the wrong tie rod -- I got the one for a 460/461 chassis, part 460 330 07 03. I will sell it in a separate thread on the forum to someone who may need one. I'll sell it for $270 shipped, which is a good deal. The factory price is $350.

I have this job in the very near future as well I do need the panhard rod as I have bought the tie rod already. Let me just check to make sure that is the correct part number for my 1982 461.

Question with regard to the Panhard bar, for those who have purchased them: does it come with the bushings pre-installed, or do I need to purchase the two rubber bushings separately, and press them in?

Before you install... Hold the new rod directly under the old and adjust the length of the new to be as close to the setting of the old. I did this with mine. Took it to the alignment shop and they said no alignment necessary.
