According to the diagram I needed 74,83,86 and 77 however the guys in Mercedes gave me an extra item which is the paper like seal(greyish). More importantly, I want to know what order these need to go on. How do I replace the steering knuckle/kingpin bearing(53). The one at the top seems to have been pressed in. Do I simply pry it out? thanks Edited by King_GH 12/23/2019 9:54 AM (Screenshot 2019-12-22 at 13.48.52.png) (IMG_0396.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Screenshot 2019-12-22 at 13.48.52.png (83KB - 27 downloads) IMG_0396.jpg (193KB - 18 downloads)

As you disassemble the hub, the order for the various gaskets and rings should be apparent. The king pin bearing is not pressed in, but #50 is and #56 might be.

One has got a cut and 2 holes for that pin (80) the other is not cut. I'm still left with an extra item that does not appear in the diagram.

The one with the cut is to be used with the pin in place of the uncut one, if you don't want to disassemble the hub. You'll get a much better seal of the grease if you use the uncut one instead of the cut one with the pin. Trust me, as I know from first hand experience.

Can I assume that the grease inside it is all good since it's not leaking. Leave it alone?

Black lower left (though you could reuse your old one) 2. Grey seal 3. Metal ring top right (though you could reuse your old one) 4. Solid seal not the split one. As you sandwich all these together make sure #3 pushes/keeps #4 in place as you cross tighten down the bolts side to side.
