Looks like after over 20 years a new model range is here! Photos of a car which looks like a mix of W461, W463, W463A was posted on a German Facebook G Forum 2 days ago. https://www.facebook.com/groups/gclassforum/ From the datacard I got from VeDoc (the guy who took the photos doesn’t wish to publish the VIN) the car is called 464.300- G350d, has the OM656 2.9 I6 Turbodiesel and 9G gearbox from the W463A but a standart VG150 t-case. The axles are not mentioned on the datacard but there is an option called fender flares for 1515 mm wide axle (different from 1475 mm and 1555 mm used today). What´s also interesting the code ZD4 vehicle for non-civilian use is missing on the datacard, the car has no military options like convoy lights, NATO towing hook or cables for military radio station. On the other hand it has plenty options you will more expect in a civilian vehicle like comfort seats, digital radio or civilian tow hitch.

Looks like the car we all want them to make. Solid front axle, G-pro redo The Kardashians can take all the newer 463 as far as I'm concerned Edited by otiswesty 4/18/2020 9:45 PM (464.jpg) (464Vin.jpg) (EPC.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 464.jpg (134KB - 0 downloads) 464Vin.jpg (141KB - 0 downloads) EPC.jpg (87KB - 0 downloads)

Otisweisty, keeping the solid front axle is a selling point for you? That's basically the single but significant selling point of the 2019 model year for me (that I might consider in 10 years). I'm pretty bummed to hear that the 464 is missing the independent front suspension. For me, Rally racing, Stadium Trucks, and Super Trucks all reflect my childhood experience with RC Cars. Independent suspension (done correctly) is amazingly capable. Why they wouldn't use the front suspension from the largest Sprinter is certainly "curious". Maybe this way it better supports existing military contract for the next 25 years. In that sense, I'm not complaining at all that they're probably selling a truck today with STILL shares parts with my truck!!!

Down travel of the independent suspension and change in ground clearance with articulation are a couple of reasons. Harald explains this somewhat in his comparison of the ML and G offroad performance. http://4x4abc.com/ML320/ml320_vs_280GE.html Edited by otiswesty 4/22/2020 6:14 PM

Not knowing too much about the inner-workings at MB regarding naming conventions, I find it curious they put the W464 prefix on this vehicle, and gave the completely new G the old W463… ?
