I would try disconnecting it from the wiring plug under the unit and then reinserting the plug a bit later. On my 1997 G300, I was unable to get my Webasto timer to work or boot up. I replaced it with a used timer and that fixed it. Getting the heater to work was another matter. The Webasto controller in my 99 G500 has worked fine since I first bought it. I have seen identical used controllers on eBay from a seller in Poland that has a large variety of them. They are differentiated by a series of letters or numbers on the underside.
