Hi, Yes, I've run 15" wheels on my G300TD LWB 2001 from some years with All-Terain (AT) tyres for winter an off-road us. For summer I keep the 18" wheels fitter with more general road tyres fittted - better for motorway / auto-route use. Doing this allows you to have higher profile tyres on th 15" and the benefits those bring. (softer ride, better coping with ruts and bumps etc... basically more tyre to do their job). You need to ensure that the oustside diametre of the tyre is the same as if you had lower profile tyers fitted on for example 18" wheels. This ensures that the tyres do not rub on any of the body work etc... Provided the outside diametre of the higher profile !5" tyres is the same then I've never had any problems with rubbing etc.. If the diametre of the 15" was too great (i.e. too higher profile) you could run into a number of issues: 1. The speedometre would given an incorrect reading (because the overall size is too great). 2. The breaks would need upgrading. 3. In extreme situations the motor could not provide enough torque. One piont to note is that where I live (in France) we have a legal government road check (same in most Eurpean countries) every two years. The car has to meet the MB homolgation spec. when it's checked. 15" wheels are NOT on the MB list, so when I take my car for it's government check every two years I have to have the standard !8" wheels fitted. Hope that helps.

If you are able to post a picture, that would be great. Are they the 460 series ATS alloy wheels? Eric

Yes, those are the ATS wheels 7x15" for the 460 I have a set in storage as well that I would consider using, the ET of 37mm should help with clearance #5 here http://www.rubicon-trail.com/G-Class/wheels/start.html

Desert Fox - 4/29/2023 10:34 PM What about these? I have a set of these wheels and tried them on my 99 G500 a few weeks ago. They interfere with the front brake caliper and do not fit.
