I am pretty mechanical but obviously don't have every tool referenced in the service manual. For those who have done it, can it be done? How long did it take? Would you have rather brought it to a shop?

I used a waterproof grease in the hub swivels. I put in the green water-proof grease bought from Advance auto. It takes a 14 mm allen wrench to remove the plug. I am due up on the 2016 and bought an air operated pneumatic grease gun to take the pain out of the numerous pumps. Mind you these pneumatic guns are rated for a max 80 psi. I pump about a 1/2 tube in each, more if needed. Inspect your pinion seals for leakage. The 85-95 weight oil is Mbenz required weight. Edited by GwagenLover 6/30/2023 7:39 AM

There is a post here regarding rebuild: http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.asp?tid=19242&po... The hub nut tool is the main specialty tool needed.
