I pulled the lever inside the cabin all the way. But hood doesn't pop up. I directly pulled the wire very hard from inside the cabin (because I almost broke that red lever) but hood didn't open... Any help is appreciated... Oh, btw, I won a race again... second time in this year! Although you pulled the inside hood lever all the way back and did not see the hood pop up, somestimes you have to feel the bottom front of the hood for the spring lever. Once you feel the spring lever at the front of the hood, pull it towards you and you should be able to open your hood. Domo arigato.

I think he meant the hood didn't pop. have someone stand at the front and press down on the hood several times while you pull the lever. the spring some times jams and doesnt re-act.

Thanks Yasu Try to get a little oil on the part that slides as well as the cable. If the cable has siezed up, you may have to loosen that Philips head screw so that the release mechanism can be moved independently from the cable.

I bounce the "backside" on the hood a couple times (like getting into and out of a chair quickly), and this usually seems to knock comething loose, enabling me to pull the cable with the lever inside the footwell.

DUTCH - 7/8/2006 1:21 AM Try to get a little oil on the part that slides as well as the cable. If the cable has siezed up, you may have to loosen that Philips head screw so that the release mechanism can be moved independently from the cable. I'll try applying oil tomorrow. The cable is not seized up. I took off the wire from the red release lever in side the cabin. Then, I push the wire. Wire moves okay. I think the release mechanism is locked and can not be released. Thanks! Yasu

Have you tried pulling the cable with the pliers and holding the tension while someone trys to get their fingers under the front edge of the hood and lift it? If the spring is shot or stuck in a compressed position it will not pop-up. The release may be opening but the spring is not pushing it up beyond the catch, so when you release it it latches itself back again. Mark
