Not only that - but the mileage per tank can be almost double - a buddy gas a Golf TDI and gets almost a thousand km / tank
The tiny little tank on our Smart goes about 400 km on 12 bucks worth of diesel |

I've always preferred gasoline, but the torque specs on the CDI models are just amazing. Perfect for trips up in the mountains towing a boat at the same time. |

I'm not really bothered either. My Land Rover is a diesel, and lots of Rover owners swear by it due to the diesel's better engine braking. When off-roading this can make quite a difference. It makes a very re-assuring sound that says: Reliable, dependable, hard-working. The Mog (ultimate off-roader!) is petrol, (benzine, gasoline etc.) and makes a totally different sound. My favourite sound though, is the noise my Moto Guzzi V50 makes ~ oh yeah, V twin music! |

Diesel totally rules! 38-40 mpg, 750 miles to a tank of fuel. Durability of a tank. 500,000 mile life expectancy. No stupid spark plugs. 1,000's of truckers can't be wrong. |
