I must say, this is way more pleasant to do than on the M112 Engine on the W210. Lots more room to work, and not as many "sharp" heat shields to slice you up. In fact, as opposed to the M112, you can do nearly ALL of the Plugs WITHOUT having to remove the Coil Packs. The only "Down Side" is---- 16 Plugs are ALOT to Change!!! Two VERY IMPORTANT NOTES- 1- Use the Specified Boot Pulling Tool to Remove the Spark Plug Leads. Apparently, they are quite "sensitive" to trauma... Plus they are Expensive, if Damaged. I think I have read some folks using a "regular" 17mm spanner as a "Pry" Tool. 2-Upon Re-Installing the Lead, you MUST Feel the "Click" to Know you Have COMPLETELY Attached it. Great tutorial, in confidence of your consise and detailed tutorial, I've just saved myself a 12 hour charge from a local BRABUS dealer, though, it's a lot tougher then I thought, the M113 engine in a C Class W203 chassis is pretty tight to work with. Kudos for the tutorial, it's brought me a lot of wisdom! Thanks - I did a quick photo-shot of my work on my BRABUS CV8 on the W203 topic. Happy New Year!!

The Brabus dealer has the gall to charge 12 hours for a 2-3 hour job?? That is really crazy. Glad you were successful, though. Plus you have the satisfaction of doing it yourself! Cheers

I believe it is 5 years or 100,000. Beware, on your CLK the spaces will be quite "tight", ... and use caution... Heat Shields etc will take their toll on your knuckles if you are not careful.. What is a really slick way of doing the plugs is in conjunction with Engine Mounts... When you lift the motor.... it gives great access for plug R/R.

Doing the plugs on the G was not really any different than any other vehicle. Nonetheless, it was good to have a heads up on certain things before starting. I just did my plugs and wires yesterday. Easy job, just a bit time consuming - 16 plugs and not much room to move. In my experience, it is not necessary to remove the coils except for cylinder #7 as noted. However, after the first few I did remove them and it made the job a whole lot easier and faster. For one bolt each, it is a no-brainer to me. I also replaced the wires while I was at it. My advice there would to be put the new wire onto the coil first before plugging it to the spark plug. For the first few, I did the plug first (easier) but then I ended up bending one of the copper connecting plugs while trying to plug it to the coil. Especially with regards to the "G" wires, the angle it pretty severe from the coil to the spark plug. Also, be sure not to put too much dielectric grease into the coil to wire connection. I did this on one, and the wire would not stay on. I think there wasn't enough room in there and there was almost a compression issue. After wiping a bit out, connected fine and stayed put. I need to do this. Seems eazy-peezy with the proper tools. I Dunno' about the "Easy Schmeezy"... I let one of our local P3 Bretheren do his plugs at my place, this last week-end... He is a good mechanic, and even with the "proper tools"... it took him nearly 6 Hours!
