j4a24 Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | CORRECT OIL FOR 2008 W221 S320 CDI WITH DPF BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS CAR AT ITS FIRST "A" SERVICE SHELL HELIX 229.5 ENGINE OIL WAS USED..THIS CAR HAS A DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER..IT WAS THE WRONG OIL.....LOW ASH 229.51 SHOULD HAVE BEEN USED...IT DID 10000 MILES ON THAT OIL...DEALER CHANGED OIL AND OIL FILTER FOR ME AND SAID IT'LL BE OK..BUT THEN THEY WOULD SAY THAT...IS THERE DAMAGE DONE TO THE DPF OR ENGINE AS A RESULT..IT WAS PUT IN BY MERC IPSWICH....................THIS IS COMPUTER READOUT: ASH CONTENT 15 % SOOT CONTENT 77% EXHAUST BACK PRESSURE SENSOR 1037 hPa TEMP SENSOR UPSTREAM OF TURBO 137C LAMDA 3.4 TEMP UPSTREAM OF DPF 116C PRESSURE DIFF SENSOR (DPF) 4 FLOW RESISTANCE 0 EXHAUST GAS FLOW RATE 39.3 m3/h HAVE I A PROBLEM NOW OR LATER? THEY SAID DRIVING WILL CLEAN THE DPF???? | ||

THEY SAID DRIVING WILL CLEAN THE DPF???? Can't answer the first one, but there is a software step in the driving that burns excess fuel to super heat the DPF to clean it out. | ||
