fgwinn Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | 4 matic tire rotation I have been following the tire rotation recommendations from the Tirerack tech articles. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=43 I use the rearward cross pattern (fig C). I have 32,000 miles and have rotated the tires five times. Tire wear is much better than expected. I am currently at about 6/32 remaining. I think I could get to 45K to 50K out of the stock Conti tires. I understand that MB suggests a same side tire rotation (fig D in Tire Rack article). One of my front tires had a cupping wear pattern on the inside edge. Does anyone know if this indicates an alignment problem or a shock/spring suspension problem? I have an appointment for a wheel alignment later this week.

I am hoping that was the cause of the cupping on the left front tire inner edge. The SA was very surprised that the tires still looked very serviceable even after nearly 33,000 miles.
