sps, since I have had a vehicle that developed rust holes in that area I am taking measures to prevent it from happening again.

Re: Photo DIY Windshield gasket sealent

I had some rust showing around my windshield gasket and finally judt got around to getting the truck into a body shop. $2000 later and the long drawn out cleanup of the sandblasting grit from the holes through the windshield frame you cannot see until the gasket is out.
It didn't have the new glass caulked in when it was installed but it is now. This is work you don't want to do twice.

Glue/sealant at the blue arrow serves to protect from rust.

Glue/sealant at the red arrow is used to keep the window in place when the airbag fires.  Without it, the passenger airbag will blow out the window instead of protecting the passenger.

Hmmmm,

Last time I did this job, the part# for the Sealant was 005 989 61 71 (Which you should be able to source in Europe as Terostat MS 930).

If you are interested, I posted the "W463 Method" (even though I was working on the W460) for Windscreen Gasket Sealing here: (you have to go towards the END of the post)
