Anyone have a 1997 E 300 Diesel? This was the non-turbo model. I haved looked at one with high miles for sale and just wondered how they held up around the 200,000 mark. |

This one has a drain on the battery coming from somewhere. The battery will charge up, but will not hold the charge for more than a day. The instrument panel is not evenly lit either. I think I will pass on this one! |

It really relates to what kind of service the vehicle has had. Especially important is for regular oil changes beyond what the factory suggests are necessary. I have a '97 with 110,000 miles. It runs the same as when it was new. No oil consumption, nothing different. Also, take a look at the transmission as they are not known to last 200,000 miles. |
