Disgusting advert

Is this kind of misleading advertising legal in the US of A?

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4508668543866446500

Fair play dictates that it would not in the UK.

This is more likely:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iErHPe7L_zo&search=hummer

Or the final part of this one>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1KQOdRW_EA&search=hummer

Your comments please, Gents....

RE: Disgusting advert

First Clip :

One thing is true it doesn’t matter how good the vehicle is if you put losers like thos drivers faking these stuck .

Sad part is that a lot of IDIOTS will not notice that the Lexus is being forced to get stuck in the first obstacle and the G has in it for over 25 years lockers where obviously they were not used in the Dirt vs Ditch ,,,,,,

Disgusting would be enough of a comment pathetic would add more taste to the producer of this clip .

Second Clip :

Is my favorite all times seeing is believing .

Third Clip:

Can I publish my number for recovery services 24/7 free of charge .

it's totally normal.

I think that first video is commonplace advertising. Here, in the US, we're pretty much swimming in a pool of shit advertising like that. Unfortunately it makes people feel really good about their purchases so marketing folks pump it like CRAZY! Unfortunately, it shows how brainlessly people suck advertising without being very suspect. Granted, i thought it adequately pointed out that the stock g-wagen comes with pathetic traction tires. Fine for rigid surfaces and reasonably tough, but sad in many other ways. But i also think there's a reason they didn't show a g-wagen in many of those pictures. The g-wagen is simply so much cooler that it would bad H2 marketing to tempt people with g-wagen images.

RE: Disgusting advert

80 was a good year. Need I say more ?
I played the first one backwards to see if there was some message from the underworld.
I played the second one and laughed out loud.
I played the third one....well, it is still on "pause"

Re: Disgusting advert

The first video looked like a combination of drivers who purposely drove the vehicles to make them look bad compared to the Hummer as well as vehicles that were just your dealer stock vehicles. But yes, we see a lot of advertising like that in the US.

I agree with everyone on the second video--that is more like what a Hummer does. I take it that driver (or sucker I should say) bought the Hummer based on watching the first video. Hehehe!!! I bet he is now wishing he bought a G.

At first, I was thinking the thirs video was going to be the G rescuing everyone that day and being the hero.

Is the first video an official ad for the H2 ? I thought this kind of ad is forbidden. Anyway, that's a funny ad, with total idiots driving amazing machines.

Re: Disgusting advert

Hey,you have to think about this advert sideways. If enough idiots get taken in by this advert,it will leave a lot more new G's in the dealers, for you guys to buy when the time comes....He.He.He!

Re: Disgusting advert

I know only very little about Hummers, as we have about 10 of them in the whole country, but it looks like an ultimate off-road for people, who are too stupid to be able to push a button.

RE: Disgusting advert

Laughable No amount of false marketing will make-up for the H2s shortcomings; build quality being one of many. Consider the source, some cheezy GM dealer! Even with aggressive incentives they can not give their product away. When a company offers incentives like GM, Ford, Chrysler, something is terribly broken! If you are in one of their dealerships....Run away, do not walk I feel sorry for them;mouth breathers!

also, the h2 appears to be the only one running all-terraine tires. I don't think i would attempt some of those obstacles in any vehicle that wasn't running some kind of aggressive all-terraine pattern.

You probably noticed that the G-Wagon was mising from the majority of the captions...

I don't know about you guys, but my G-Wagon would have definitely gone through that water obstacle. I also have aggressive tires instead of "slicks" when going in that terrain.

How many H2 have you seen with Military Service?

Re: Disgusting advert

A dealership offerred to let us test 3 H2's for possible use as urban search and rescue vehicles, so we took them to the Hollister off-road park and took them through the paces. As we were taking them up a rocky slope with plenty of loose rocks, one of them broke a tie rod and had to be towed back. Needless to say, we did NOT purchase H2's...
