... just bought original SLR RIMS. A company in Germany modifies, exports luxury german cars for the rolyal families of Quatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain. One of their customers just ordered a SLR , and wanted 722 RIMS. I was able to sanp up these for my SL (2650 Euros). The original price is 9'000 Euros. Am I nuts?......well I'll be waiting until spring to mount them.

Those are really good looking rims. It looks like you got a great deal. I noticed the rims in the last picture are mounted on the opposit side of the previous pictures. You could rotate your rims from left to right side every once in a while for a different look. Mike Edited by Mike's ML 12/9/2007 7:57 PM

The design of those wheels is thought to create a turbine effect (something like a cyclone filter) to channel fresh air to refrigerate the brakes.... thus two of the rims have a certain design (to be fitted on one side of the car) and the two others have a mirror image of the former (to be fitted at the other side of the car). See first picture and you will understand (tose two to the let are a mirror image to those two to the right). By fitting the rims in the wrong way the only thing that you will manage is to suck air from the brakes.... Edited by mortinson 12/10/2007 2:23 PM

Some have clockwise rotation and others have counter-clockwise rotation. I did notice that there is a definite scoop design to the spokes but are they supposed to push air into the brakes or suck air from the brakes? I think they "look" best in the first pictures. They don't look correct in the last picture. What does everyone else think? Most important, since they are your rims, what do you think Pete? No you won't. See what you mean with the pictures..... I will have to ask the guys selling them to give me details .... am expecting them to suck rather than blow the air since blowing would proivde more drag to the vehicle...... who knows .... Should have an answer soon on that though .....
