It is also too hard to find diesel in America. I would buy a classic diesel, but it wouldn't be convenient because I only know of one station near me with diesel.

I only have 2 stations near me with diesel. It's not a problem since I get just under 500 miles to a tank of fuel. There's always plenty of time to get to one of those locations. The inconvenience comes in if you have to go to the dealer to get a repair done instead of doing it yourself ($$$$$). Owning a classic MB diesel should only be considered, IMO, if you are able to afford repairs at the dealership or a trusted indy or you can do the work yourself. Either way it's definitely NOT cheap to own an older MB diesel.
