Aftermarket Trailer Hitch....

Has anyone installed an aftermarket trailer hitch on a ML yet? What might be the pros/cons of going the route? I know the dealer can do the oem one but they are asking a mint for it, if you find a dealer willing to. The dealer I bought from told me that it couldn't be done as an after thought but I have heard of other dealers willing to do the install. Thanks for any feedback.

RE: Aftermarket Trailer Hitch....

The moral to the story is to have options factory installed.

The trailer hitch is a $500 option factory installed, but it runs about $2K to have the dealer install one -- which they can certainly do.

The same relative pricing applies to generally every option.

RE: Aftermarket Trailer Hitch....

I have a related question. Don't have the factory installed hitch but have tried to get one on aftermarket. However, have been rejected due to the fact that the vehicle has the airmatic system. Anybody have the airmatic with hitch, so i know it can be done?
