Caution issued by Mbenz for CDI oil change

Engine Oil Change:
As a consequence of insuffucient accuracy when addng oil,
oil is spilled next to the oil filler neck,
The excess oil then runs unnoticed under the enging design cover and from there,
on the engind downwards over/into the alternator.
The oil there then damages the slip ring and carbon brushes.
A root cause for that could be an incorrect fixed oil filler cap too.

IIRC there's a TSB for an improved rubber ring around the filler.

They put it on mine the last time I was at the dealer. I couldn't see any difference. I always use a funnel anyway; so there's no spillage.
