Old Mercedes

Maybe one of the experts on this forum can help me ID my grandfathers old Mercedes. I remember it looking like a late fifties 180 or 190 from pictures of those I've seen, but I swear it had stacked front headlights. I'm in Canada if it makes a difference. I've never seen another like it. Thanks.

Sounds like a Fintal/Heckflosse.

Re: Old Mercedes

Sorry, I have no pictures, only fond memories. The last time I saw it was the early seventies. It had a phone in it.
He traded it in for a Hornet!
The car had the rounded rear of those I previously described, no fins, and looked very much like them except for the headlights. It wasn't a particularly large vehicle either.

Re: Old Mercedes

I think you're right. And my memory is shot. They sure look familiar. Sure brings back memories...

I wonder how many of those are on the road presently?

Re: Old Mercedes

More than you think. The sedans are now starting to come into their own as they were ignored for years as "too common." Now they are rare because no one kept them! Check e-bay at some of the prices.
