close space and cup holders

Hey guys
I will like to close the space below the blower switch on console, like the picture but without the medallion.
Is there an original mercedes part? any ideas to close this space?
and cup holder solutions for preMBUSA G500, those anybody have the one on the door, what do you guys think about it.

Thank you
JV

Nothing shows up on the EPC as a flat panel for that spot. Standard is a recess to store small "stuff".

I have cupholders that are similar to, but better looking (and a better match to the door leather) than the one in your photo. I purchased mine from an advertiser on the old forum, RIP. Sadly, all those old ad links are gone. Found it:

I did check the link for the cupholder, I have the one on the center control with the wood finish but I found it to be to big and it gets in the way most of the time. are the ones in the door any better?

The ones on the door are by the same company as the one on your console. Only differences are: 1.) Vertical mount and 2.) Single cup.

Re: close space and cup holders

I have been considering the one in the center console. I guessed that cup holder on the door would get into the way of my leg.
For the center console, does it get into the way alot with the rear windows? I typically crack the rear window when I roll down my front window....

Moving the switches eliminates the problem with the rear windows. If you don't, the cupholder sits right on top of them.

The biggest problem is that the cupholders get in the way when you want to shift the TC to low. If they're folded down, the shift lever will hit the cupholder, but you still can make the shift. If there's a drink or two in there, it's no easy go.

Re: close space and cup holders

I thought that Mercedes were not supposed to have cup holders anyway. I saw a TV program on Mercedes and it stated that the cup holders were added to Mercedes due to US drivers wanting them and the MBs not selling that well in the US without them.
