I wiped all underneath down and identified the oil to be motor oil but cant see where coming from. I drive 15 miles to town and back, park and notice the trail of oil coming from where the oil filter housing meets the block...or so it appears. The puddle doesnt grow when parked so that narrows it down to an "under pressure" issue versus the infamous oil pan theory. have any of you experienced anything similar and did you find it to be the oil lines to the filter housing or the housing to block gasket ? Thanks, Mike

Thanks, Mike There's an O-ring between the cannister housing and the block. Did it get replaced when you changed the filter?

This leaking can make you crazy because it is hard to determine where it is coming from. This just happened to my friends 300GE and new seals there fixed the problem. The diesels can have the same thing happen. A pretty easy fix. -Dai

It also appears there must have been a sale on silicone gasket material when they rebuilt the motor and it also appears there is no gasket here just silicone. mike (0507061a.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 0507061a.jpg (55KB - 0 downloads)
