Not a G but will be soon

My wife bought a 2002 Disco 2 years old. Well that long and short of it is the Dealer forgot (9 months ago) to change the warrranty thus as far as any other Rover dealer was concerned it was not under Warranty. So lest week it blew a head gaskit in a big was thus spittin out all fluids in and out og the engine. In the 20/30 seconds from realizing what was going on and getting it over and stopped the engine is pretty much toast.
No going back to the whut whoh warrenty screw up they are saying WE have to pay out of pocket and then see if Land Rover, wife now calls then Bend Over, will pay us back.
So results, wife told them take it and stick it, called Insurance, told them what happened they are covering it as a catastrophic failure and sending us a check. We loose about $1500.
So wife said find me a G that I know will work...
She looked at this one and wants it if anyone here knows the G

May have a 3rd g in the stable if it works out

So the latest update.
They have offered us to pay half of the work they will pay the other half,
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing. I bet MB would never do something like this.

MB Worldwide probably wouldn't, but MBUSA would most likely make you pay for the whole deal.

Re: Not a G but will be soon

Dutch,
I just talked to my Lawyer and I am running down my paperwork this afternoon. Land Rover has said they will not budge and they feel that it is fair. I said you are not standing behind the warranty that you said the Disco came with and you want me to pay 1/3.
The lawyer said that is what is known as FRAUD.
So lets see how the dealer likes that.
It is not the money well kinda, but the deception and the BS.
I talked with the guy that has that G and I am not sudfe why they would sell it for $14000 is someone just put $14000 into it. Could it be a true deal or you think he is just BSing

Based on the guy's feedback, I personally wouldn't touch the truck - especially after his arrogant comment back to a dissatisfied bidder. 75k is probably more likely 175k. Based on what you know about G's from your experience with your current one, I sure would want to give it a thorough inspection before bidding. Since it's in NJ, why not see if Wolfgang will inspect it. He's probably the best qualified.

You certainly don't want an unhappy wife!

It looks like there's a wolfgangs promo placard in place of the front license plate. Wolfgang might already be familiar with this truck.

I talked with them and it is Wolfgangs to sell. I am trying to set up to go see it if it is still available. If my wife does not want it and it works out I may get it and sell my 1980. We will see.

Good luck with LR. Land Rover service (or lack there of) is the reason why we have another G, and not another Range Rover. I had about 2k left on my warranty through LR when I got rid of it due to them "limping" it along with the repairs until it was to come out of my pocket instead of theirs'.

I am not sure what you are looking for as for year, etc, for you wife. I used a auto broker to find my wife's 2000 and could not have had a better or easier experience. Just my .02 cents

Re: Not a G but will be soon

I wouldnt buy a older G, well that old unless its a toy. Most women dont know what they want. So moving from a nice rover to old G is not a step most women will do.

As for the comit about mb, im over $30K mark in warranty repairs and still have problems. As of right now they have had my G 9 days to fix a window problem that they say is not under warranty because im over 50K miles. No big deal, except they have replaced this 3 other times for the same problem.

One thing about this is you would have to know my wife to understand. This is a woman that bought a farm house, mind you I was working in Beijing and had told her get what you want. We spent 2 years living room to room as we restored it. Second at 5'4" she used to love to drive my Unimog. And lastly she married me. Add this all up and well you have on hell of a keeper.
Well then there is this.
