I thought you guys might like this one: A G 300 CDI Baumuster 4 ("Kastenwagen" = meaning "delivery van") which Mike Pagger was delivering to one of his customers lately.

Regards,

Also from Mike?

I ve heard that from September MB will start to sell the DoKa within the Professional line, but only 3428, no 3120mm.

And we will see someting with 3090mm wheelbase and Om612 ?

Hi Luky - BINGO,

the 3120mm was build by Mike as well, based on a "Bundeswehr" G 280 CDI BM 6 with an OEM double cab built esp. for a 3120mm frame. Attached you find a little preview picture. The 3290mm (AGF) is soon to come...you gonna see it first - here!

What's that bulge on the hood, for clearance of the engine?

RE: Brandnew G 300 CDI Kastenwagen at Tschiewagon/Graz

Here You go. The one without stickers is an older(02) G270CDI, the one with the stickers(a friend of mine sold 120,including vans and 3428mm chassis, of them to a local electricity company) is a G280CDI. Raiko also owned a similar one, but that was a 6-door

Re: Brandnew G 300 CDI Kastenwagen at Tschiewagon/Graz

Thank you Luky!!!! In my opinion, there's nothing quite like a freshly assembled 461 white 5 door G.

Well, except another one.

The sad thing is, this is probably the closest that I will ever get to one 461 until they find a way to bring them here.

So in the meantime, and keep the pics of my beloved coming!!

Re: Brandnew G 300 CDI Kastenwagen at Tschiewagon/Graz

Those heated truck mirrors are really nice. Do they also have electric controls, or are they adjusted manually like the standard mirror?
The 270 and 280 do not have the hood modifications, I noticed. I wonder if that is a modification related to that specific vehicle.
Also I wonder if the battery is in the far back like the pre 2000 463 model or in the mid passenger area like the 2002+ 463s, just behind the cab seats.

Otis, the larger side view mirrors are electric. If I am not mistaken, the control is in the center, as a part of the front piece of the center storage compartment.

The window switches are in the same proximity.

G 300 CDI: Bulbs on the hood

The bulbs on the hood are G 300 CDI specific. Both the G 280 Pur and the G 300 Professional have the OM 642 inside. The G 280 is an EURO 4 engine, whereas the G 300 fullfills already the requirements for EURO 5. There are some tiny tits and bits in the environment of this engine requiring a tad more space - that is where you see the bulbs ontop of the hood.

The switch for the for the electric mirrors is located as mentioned at the front side of the armrest. Find picture enclosed:

Raicar, I like the "no-nonsense" approach to the G300 interior. From the leather steering wheel to the placement of the window and mirror switches, it all seems perfect! The only thing missing is black MB carpet.

G 300 CDI no electric windows

Hi Brent,

Mercedes does so far not offer electric windows. They were neither available for my G 270 Worker, nor for the current G 280 and G 300 Professional models. Presumably parts from the earlier 460 or 461 models should fit. But what you get OEM are rubbermats in waffle design, which are easy to clean with a pressure washer.

Is my translator broken? In the options list, there was one that said electric windows.

RE: G 300 CDI location of the battery

Whereas the batteries for the 24V are at their original location in the engine bay, battery #3 is as earlier mentioned by "easydeluxe" under the armrest between drivers and co-drivers seat - there you go with another picture.
