2005 Gwagon may buy

So my wife liked the 1985 G but decided that new would be better. We just looked at a 05 G500 Grand Edition. Less the 200 miles, was a demo for a few weeks. Anyway she loved the hell out of it.
They are asking 70K which seems not to bad. Was thinking if I should look for something a year or two older that may have more of a "new car cost" deducted.
Yea a branny new one would be really cool.
Thoughts and opinions welcome.
Also told my wife if she gets a G she has to join here AND take it in the mud
So far so cool with the demmands

not a bad price but if she uses it why spend the extra money on a new car. 02 model can be had in mid $30's now. Ill put right in a black on black o2 with 57K miles, for $37k also comes with a few dents, nice scratches, black wheels, all chrome removed, brush, head light, and turn signal gaurds and a new window motor, rely, and switch when i get it back from mb

all that aside. i would not buy a new G unless you hold out for a 2007 model to see what the interior changes are. There are a lot of low milage G's out there. Most of these suv's where "toy or fad" cars for the wealthy.

Also if she likes the G but wants more luxuary look a the 07 Gl's

She actually hates the GL not because of anything but the look. She loves the hard lines of the G says it looks more utilitarian and rugged. Mind you my wife grew up in South Africa on a farm so it is not like she is a not get my feet dirty priss. She loves to go out and get muddy..
I will start looking maybe not for an 05 but something still under warranty for at least a few weeks.

sounds good, id make sure you can get one under warranty, then you can buy extended one if you want. Thats what i did. The market on the G is down. I mean you might as well save like $25-30K I think from 03-up they are pretty close to the same. the 02 have ugly head liners, no signals in the mirrors and different seats i think.
