3.2 I-6 diesel article...

Diesel World Magazine has a good article about the 3.2 I-6 CDI on page 10. I don't know if they have a website, but if you are interested check out the magazine. I suppose that is the motor coming in the G for diesel format. 201hp/369lbs torque if I remember correctly. Looks pretty cool. Just a FYI.

It is my understanding that the I-6 has already been replaced by the V6 3.2 CDI in Germany and that the E320 CDI's will have the V6 next year here in the States. So, one would think that if the G does get the 3.2 CDI here, it will be the V6 version. Pure speculation on my part, though.

I much prefer the I-6 for the torque and engine balance over a V6.

Some pictures. The gentleman is MB's chief diesel engine engineer.

The current issue of the Star has more info with an explanation of BlueTec and options MB might pursue to get the engine 50 state legal.

RE: 3.2 I-6 diesel article...

im just hoping that it has the same weight roughly as the current g-glass. the G is already not a nimble vehicle and i would like to just move my springs to a diesel truck instead of having to buy all new springs :p
