A Tasmanian Encounter

While visiting relatives in Tassie for Christmas I caught up with Kerry and his beloved 300GD.

Here are some pictures of this unique looking vehicle, not sure if they have been posted here before but I am sure others will like to see it.  I beleive it started life as a Mercedes Australia service vehicle and later used in the horse racing industry during races.  Perhaps Kerry can eleborate on how the G was used in horse racing?  I love the colour combination and the 16" steel wheels, without requiring the wheel arch flares.

Tasmania is a popular touring destination so add it to your list if you are planning on coming down-under.

-Graham

RE: A Tasmanian Encounter

G,,day i just never know where i or my G will pop up.
yes it was owned by MB AUS, the horse bit was it carted either a cameraman or a steward around the outside of the track.
it was originally plain blue, MB AUS added the white stripe and roof to make it stand out a bit more for advertising reasons.
Steve , crocs are bloody comfortable, some say daggy looking , who cares.
Graham , i am dissapointed you didnt put up the lovely pic of Irene wearing a G cap.
cheers kerry

RE: A Tasmanian Encounter

Kerry, while the black star looks a bit more "military" - in your case it might not.

But I guess Obama has made this A-OK in the US army at least

Not that there is anything wrong with that!

I love the colour combination

x2. It looks fantastic. The blue, white and black go very well together. With a black roof, black flares and a small spring lift, this G will look AGGRESSIVE!

Still very nice as it is. Cheers!
