G270CDI LWB Cabrio, Slovak armed forces

Here are a few photos of a G270CDI BA10, which just returned from a peace keeping mission in former Yugoslavia. The car was used there with some provisional armoring, so the springs and shocks are a bit tired. Also the camouflage shows the car has a few interesting things behind

Hi Eric,

those cars are every once in a while available, if you can make it to Denmark. They just need a little love and attention:

Re: G270CDI LWB Cabrio, Slovak armed forces

Thanks Raiko,
I am in Denmark every few yers to visit family. Looks like I will need to do a little prep before my next trip. I do prefer the 460 style diff lockers, but the 270cdi 461 is very nice, especially with the PTO winch.

Eric, W461s with full time 4x4 don´t have PTOs. There is a button for the electric winch(that was even in the old W461 from about 1994) and that button which looks like PTO is I think for some extra electric power when You are starting at low temperatures(I have never used it yet, probably Raiko will know more).

RE: G270CDI LWB Cabrio, Slovak armed forces

Hi Eric,

the VG150 which is in the W463 and the W461 up from the G 270 Worker was not offered with PTO. Nevertheless there are technical drawings and maybe even prototypes existing of the VG 150 with PTO. In Luky's photo, the left and the middle switch have the following function: The left one switches on the circuit for the "Drehzahlanhebung", whereas the middle one influences the actual number of revs. For example: If you are in a stationary mode and you are using the winch together with other electric consumers a lot, it makes sense to increase the power output of the engine and thus the alternator.
