turn signal

I just notice that when I turn the turn signal for the driver side, it makes two sounds, and only one in the other side, I check all the lights and they are working, but the front driver side turn signal light has two filaments and only one turns on, on the other side they both turn on, I change the light with the one from the other side, but it dose the same, I check the cables and they look OK, any ideas?

thank you

Those light sockets were changed to the dual filament by whoever Federalized the truck, as they originally came from the factory with a single filament bulb for the turn signal only. Somehow, there's a wire crossed on the side where both filaments come on together.

RE: turn signal

thank you Dutch for the reply.

If i get this right, there is a wire crossed, on the other side? not in the driver side where I get the doble click when I turn the turn signal.

I should have asked if this is on the 230G or the G500. The problem is in the right turn signal; but, if this is in your G500 and it's a Europa import, they did a silly thing in their Federalization which might be the cause. Let me know.

When Europa Federalized their G500's, rather than putting in a 2 pole socket, they cut away the base of the original single pole socket, slippled in a dual filament bulb and soldered wires to the connecting pins of the replacement 2 filament bulb itself. (Really a dumb idea. Wait until you have to change a burned out bulb - Get out the soldering iron!) My guess is that you have some solder flash between the two pins on the bulb.

Remove the plastic cover and look at the back of the bulb. You can see the base easily, as they just cut away the back of that original single pole socket; and the bulb is just loosely sitting in the orignal socket less base. My guess is that the two base pins on the bulb have some solder flash connecting them. Just a W-A-G.

You are the man, took the bulb out clean it and sanded between the poles and presto, now is working fine.
this is a very dumb setup, can it be change?, is the MBUSA G's have the same? if not can this one be retro-fit in to the Pre-MBUSA G's? and if not where can I get replacement bulb for my signal lights now?
BUT YOU ARE THE MAN

sorry for all the question
thank you

I don't know for sure, but would be willing to guess that the USA light sockets should retro-fit. As to replacing a bulb, it's a standard bulb. You just have to unsolder the old one and solder the leads to the new one. Obviously, their Federalizer in Germany didn't have access to the two pole sockets, so this was his "engineered" solution.
