Death Valley, CA, USA, Sept 30 - Oct 7, 2012

Quick trip last week and a couple pics to share. Good peeps, great adventure, dust, hot springs, a quick rescue, then home again. We're sooo lucky.

Route for the trip was Trona>Keeler>Cerro Gordo>Hunter Mountain>Hidden Valley>Racetrack>Lippencott>Saline Valley>Steel Pass>Dedekera>Eureka Dunes....

The guy on the top of the dunes is my old friend Ken, the H1 driver, all around gear nut, works for a satellite manufacturer. The other exemplary travel mates were Alan McR and Desertstar. I hope to have many more adventures with these guys. Simply the best.

The person on the dune looks way more like Lawrence of Arabia from here, but then the flowing robes and camel are lacking.

Nice pictures, Steve. We were at the trail head in February (last year) of the Race Track the night of a storm - rain and high wind!!!  I am sure these were the perfect conditions for large rocks to be moved around on the old lake floor. Has anyone ever witnessed these rock moving events?

Tom

Hear you brother. Maybe next month...if I'm lucky. Haven't done the spring trip in DV.

Anyone who hasn't should go to Dai's this year in June.

More details coming. Slight delay due to other forum hack.

I'd be up for Anza Borrego or other less traveled deserts too.
