The Date: 17 Aug 2013

The Time: Early to 10pm.

The Place: Fiesta Island, Mission Bay, San Diego

The Plan: Have a day at the beach to relax and kick back with friends and other like minded folks (i.e. future friends). No set schedule of events. Past activities have included fishing, sitting, stand up paddleboarding, Ham Radios, BBQing, trip planning, rig oogling, napping, RC vehicle racing, lounging, kite flying, etc. I have arranged for a fireworks show once it is dark. As long as it is legal to do on the Island, have at it. If you think others might learn from your expertise, post up a plan for a workshop.

Decals will be available for free, while they last. After that you can barter. I still have a few from last year.

T-Shirts are available! There's a catch though. In keeping with the philosophy of Rendezvous events being about more than just getting together, I have planned a fundraiser. Here is the plan: For every $25. donation to the USO you get a T-Shirt. If you respond here or PM me that you commit/pledge to the donation, I will take size orders for shirts, S,M,L,XL,XXL,and,XXXL. Just bring a copy of the donation receipt to the event and get your shirt. No cash donations will be accepted at the event.

FJOllie has offered up a workshop etc. for Ham Radios. I believe that testing will be offered.

Additional info on amateur radio testing (all levels): tests will be held between 1100 and 1300.

Very nice turn out at the Fiesta Island Rendezvous yesterday. This Meet and Greet was sponsored by Expedition Portal and Outdoor Adventure USA.

We had quite a few trucks by the early afternoon, including these two Gs (one G550 and one G500).
