Re: SE Utah in Sept 2014

Definitely. We have been talking about a Utah or Colorado trip next year. About 2+ weeks I should have available. I was considering doing some of the UT Backcountry Disc Route.

Re: SE Utah in Sept 2014

Backcountry Discovery Routes are pretty recent, the last 3+ years. A group, sponsored by Touratech & Butler motorcycle maps, have started "creating" routes across the western states. They are truck and big motorcycle friendly. They have WA, CO, UT and AZ. OR has had one previously.

These are routes of existing trails that are 95% dirt. They usually have the highlight trails of their respective states. They sell the maps and offer the GPS tracks for free. They also sell DVDs and other propaganda to go along with it, but still pretty reasonable. I think amazon prime has them too.

Backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com will get you there.
