Well it's a long story but I'll let the pictures tell the story. I found this white G and it was seriously neglected but I was willing to go the extra mile. It was worth it. I learned a whole lot about the G wagon and sure had fun doing it. Read on and see what happened!!!

So I started the clean up. Just basic touches but it was still quite grim. Lots of missing parts and generally neglected. I wonder why anyone will go for such an interior.

I did have a few "at the workshop" photos but I think it's stuck on another device. These days we use so many devices to take photos and it's sometimes hard to figure out which one took what. I'll add them in when I find them.

Wow, incredible transformation. The interior is gorgeous.
I was surprised to see that it originally had a tropical double roof. This is the first time I have seen this on a 463.

Is this a 300GD?

Yes it was a 300GD and the roof was one of the tropical roof was one of the first things I modified. I could forsee a lot of issues so I got rid of it.

Great work! I really like how you've taken care of restoring it.

Where are those blackened tail lights from?

Re: I found an orphan G, I cleaned it up and almost pimped it ......

The tail lights were just standard and I had this idea of making them look different. First thing I did was to tint the cover from the inside lightly. You can use a film if you're not too confident with spraying. (A lighter tint for the red section and a darker for the indicator) That way you get many tries. I will recommend getting a new set to try it so you don't get unstuck. The next step was to spray the outside - excluding the section where the light comes through. Also because I use LED bulbs they were very bright and made up for the dark tints. If you use an older model that should be easy - no error codes nonsense.

A very simple mod but a lot of thought and planning is required otherwise you could end up replacing them. In my opinion, it's best to use a professional for spraying the outside. Just to save you the hassle.

Very nice, Cannot believe it was the same G. Well done.
What motor is in it now? Would be nice to get a 606 in there.

What did you do with the holes when you removed the safari roof..??
Did you import the G to London?
What about it's technical condition - all OK? Pictures?
