Mercedes Metris van and Reimo conversion

It is old news now that DTNA is bringing over the US spec Vito under the name of the Metris. This is for sale along side the Sprinter. There will be both cargo and passenger versions available. Go to the MB website for build info. No diesel or 4WD version, but hey its a start.

I just saw that there is a Canadian company that is tooling up for doing a Reimo conversion on these in a very hi quality camper conversion with pop up roof and everything. Wow, dream come true.
Still developing, but on the way.

RE: Mercedes Metris van and Reimo conversion

There is now an installer on the west coast in the Sacramento area. This is the same company that did the RI work on my 1995 G320

Love my diesel Vito. Quick and super economical.

Re: Mercedes Metris van and Reimo conversion

Terracamper is also now offering a modular conversion on the Metris. Still no 4x4, but I have seen a VW T5 Terra camper that was very very sweet.

Re: Mercedes Metris van and Reimo conversion

Rumor has it the Mercedes is now planning to bring an AWD version of the Metris (Vito) to the US within a couple years.

Currently there is a 4wd conversion available from Iglhaut including 3 locking diffs. This requires that your Metris be shipped to Germany and back for the conversion.

Re: Mercedes Metris van and Reimo conversion

Word is that the 4-matic version is coming in 2020

I like the Terracamper conversion as it allows for dual sliding doors and removable modular camping bits.

Re: Mercedes Metris van and Reimo conversion
