rudeney Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Ebox fan dead My e-box fan has finally died. A few months ago, I noticed I wasn’t hearing it run anymore after shut down, so I removed it and cleaned the squirrel cage and lubed the bearings, but it’s dead again. Is there a good place to get one besides the stealer? Or, maybe even an upgrade with more airflow?

You need to replace ASAP!

Tarydesign Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: Ebox fan dead I've noticed that you hear the fan after you turn your vehicle off, listen for a soft whine under the fuse box area just in front of the firewall. Mine gave up (on my previous ML270) took it out and lubricated, replaced and worked fine! does that elctronics get that hot that it really needs the fan, or is this just a precaution?

Just a precaution. Electronics works more reliably and lasts longer when properly cooled.
