2005 G55 AMG Central Lock problem

Hey Guys

I am new to the forum, my Name is Ben, i am 33 years old and from switzerland, near lake constance. I bought a high mileage G55 from 2005 about a year ago, apart from some small DIY-fixed problems it has been really reliable so far and always puts a smile on my face when i am driving, a G-Wagon is such an special experience

About two weeks ago something strange happend: I unlocked the car with the remote and the alarm went off. Somehow i was able to stop the car from honking. But since then i am not able to lock/unlock the car with the remote. Changed batteries on both keys, i meassured the cars battery, 12.07V. If i push the button on the center console, the car locks and unlocks all doors as usual, if i drive off, the car locks itself as usual. Does anybody have an idea or had a similar problem? Maybe the receiver? If yes, where is it located? Any chance to «reset» the cars electronics?

Thanks for your support.

Ben

Could it possibly be, that the Fuse F8 from the SAM Module is broken?

12.07 volts is a little low - should be more like 12.6 for a freshly charged battery. Use one key to start and run the truck. Try locking and unlocking the other key.

Re: 2005 G55 AMG Central Lock problem

There was a shortage in the alarm horn, which caused fuse f8 to blow. Disconnected the horn, replaced the fuse – works like a charm 😊

RE: 2005 G55 AMG Central Lock problem

The lock system in my car is not working as it should. It only takes a little bit of time to get the key, but sometimes it takes longer than usual. This means that it won't open whenever I try to open the door because the electronic lock has not been reactivated yet. Some people have reported that they can fix this problem by pressing the button slightly harder, which might help. Still, ultimately nothing will help until the computer chip in the door has been replaced. One of my friends advised me to visit Range Rover Car Keys in Salt Lake County . He told me that these guys will solve my problem.
