G500 Dash lights flashing randomly

So I was driving tonight and I started to noticed the backlights for illumination of the speed, gas, ETC on the dash would flicker off for fraction of a second to 2 seconds. When these were off the High Beam Blue light would come on along with the Red SBS I think stability control Light would come on then... it all went back to normal... than 3 min latter it did it again.
I did notice 1 time the center screen mentioned something about stability control.. which makes sense with the red light flashing.
It happened maybe 10 time in 20 miles so it's an issue. No check engine light by the way. and ABS light has been on for weeks .. need to fix that too but not in a rush.

I should add about a week ago the radio stopped functioning I assume it is the fuse but haven't looked yet fuse seems to be on the passenger side. up under carpeting pieces I have to remove.. So maybe this is part of the issue not sure or a fault.

Also 1 of my car keys died about 3 months ago, so key 1 is dead and I had to get a new key #3... I am using my 2nd key that I have had for awhile VS my brand new key... So maybe my key is dyeing like the first one just in a different way not sure...

RE: G500 Dash lights flashing randomly

Check Battery voltage with engine off and with car running. It seems like the MBUSA Gwagens are very sensitive to voltage.

The other thing that comes to mind would be water ingress around the wind shield or from the wiper spindles that is getting into the electronics. This seems less likely, but hey, it's winter.

Re: G500 Dash lights flashing randomly

SO scratching my head on this one. So I used the dyno mode on the dash to watch the voltage. For the first 10 min or so I was seeing 14.2-14.1 at about the point in time where the G was up to temp it dropped to about 13.8 - 13.9 while driving down the road. BUT I had zero dash issues. Oh and the radio turned on like no big deal. I was blown away.

Just as a FYI I did have the starter and alternator rebuilt about 6 months ago and I also had them special order and install a regulator that is on the higher side of voltage than typical. I did this to support the AGM batter under the hoo.... errrrr floor. I also had the battery tested back than and they said it was rock solid.

I will measure the battery before start but I don't see it being low or an issue.

Re: G500 Dash lights flashing randomly

Does it act up parked engine at idle or being driven down the road?

Abnormal amount of "A.C.-Ripple" power leaving an Alternator might be something to look at since the alternator was recently rebuilt and a new VR.
