| Help part # - Weatherstrip / Door seal 2003 g55
I finally went to replace my driver door seal on my car, since I was having wind noise and deterioration of the rubber. After installing the seal the door was really difficult to close and the door wouldn't even lock. I compared my previous seal with the new one and the seal of the passenger door and they are much thinner. Granted the other seal has been on the car for over 19 years, but this new seal wasn't even close
I bought part #: A4607270830.
Did I purchase the wrong one? Is my part possibly for newer g's? Im having trouble finding the right part number. I only need the weatherstrip part. My only other thought is that I possibly bought a fake one.
I also found part 463-727-11-30-9051 but I cant for the life of me figure out the difference between this and the # above. Except for the fact this weathstrip cost over $200 which is not exciting!

can you post a picture of the new seal you installed?
I put a new seal on my 99 G500 last year and it looks the same and functions the same.
I believe all 463 thru 2018 use the exact same seal. The one you listed has a 460 part number which seems incorrect.
Yes, they are expensive.
I googled that 460 number and it is definitely a 460 seal despite the eBay seller selling it as a 463 seal. The 463 has the extra cloth covered lip to hold the interior panel. You can kind of see it in the second picture below.
Look at and compare the seals in your 2003 and it should be more obvious.

Thank you so much! It’s definitely the weatherstrip for the 460. It doesn’t have the felt like the 463. I didn’t realize that the felt and the weatherstrip was all one piece. I thought the felt piece and the rubber weatherstrip were separate parts and the weatherstrip glued to the felt.
I bought the new / correct part #. |
