| I'm back! - After 7 years in a Suburban
Can't say excited I am to be back in a G! Picked up a 4700 mile, one owner 2020 G550, Iridium Silver, seat package, black leather, piano lacquer wood, 19" fat tires - It's absolutely B-E-A-utiful! It flat rolls with the twin turbo 4.0 liter, the 9 speed transmission is silky smooth and did I say it was FAST!
I've already sourced and installed OEM rubber floor mats (must have) as well as rear splash guards. The day I took delivery I reached out to the owner of my last G, GWagenlover, and we're going for coffee this week. |

Also worth noting is that I posted 15.7mpg over the weekend and that's with the obligatory stomping on it! |

I have resisted the urge to test drive the newer model as I know it would be hard to justify not getting one.

That is great to hear and congrats. I too went G-less for a bit. I bought a 2002 G April 2002, traded for a Land Cruiser which I still have and bought a 2011 G550, (the fuel tank plate is awful! I get it but I hate it) anyway I installed the Mercedes 16" wheels, (they fit), That I kept that I bought and used on the 2002 from Dutch in 2005. |
