Changes in the latest model G Wagons

During the past few days, I have learned that MBenz changed some parts of the G.
One of the noticeable changes are components in the drive line.
Leaking pinion seals require total part change outs and special pullers to be replaced.
Even the one-time use flange bolts have to be replaced. Parts were in the $600 range for the repair.
Labor is shown to be 9+ hours for the work.
Then there is little unnoticed change: No grease fittings in either of the shafts or the universal joints.
I did check the front hub grease. It was bright green and full of grease.
I was expecting the hub to be slightly low, but not so.
The G wagon has been changed to end the long life that one expectes.
Buyer beware!

RE: Changes in the latest model G Wagons

Luckily there are lots of nice used older ones still available at a discounted price, for those that would take a used model and some uncertainty along with it.
