W114 restore

Hi,

I just bought a W114 (280CE) from a scrapyard ... got new keys made by MB.

However I still have trouble opeining the trunk.
The key works, can turn the lock, but the mecanism seems to be blocked.
Can put the key in 3 positions: Horizontally, then 90 deg. clockwise and not quit 90 deg counterclockwise.

Central locking cannot work as the engine is not running.

Any hints?

Thanks
Oskar

Re: W114 restore

Use a mighty-vac to activate central locking Under the drivers side rear seat there should be 2 vacuum lines.T into whichever one works, don't remember which color is which.

Re: W114 restore

well, cannot find the lines.
Its a coupe, btw and has backrest locking by vacuum also.
Some of the lines are broken, means that I have to find the line going to the trunk lock directly.

Looking in the EPC, it almost looks like the lines are on the otehr side. I will keep searching..

Thanks
Oskar

RE: W114 restore

Definitely, keep looking.

On a 250C I once found it underneath the passenger seat.

RE: W114 restore

well, I got it.

both, found the lines and got the trunk open

The lines are at the passenger side under the chrome, right underneath the door

To access an ende of the line, I had to dismantle the covers in the foot area

Anyways, thanks a lot and I bet we meet here more often as the 114 project goes on. Will be a full dismantle and restore
