ML320 CDI

I spoke to the dealer yesterday who told me that the computer indicated that assembly of my ML320 CDI started yesterday with a completion date of Friday. That's a day earlier than originally projected. Looks like I'll take delivery between Christmas and New Year.

Great news. The wait here in Germany is often much longer.

Regards from good ol' Germany.

RE: ML320 CDI

Just got a call from the dealer today that a VIN has been assigned. According to him, that means that it's pretty close to coming off assembly.

Re: ML320 CDI

Very nice, I parked next to a W164 in my GD and the owner was very friendly, gave me a "grand tour" so to speak. I was impressed, build quality and engineering certainly appears to be up on the previous model, especially the earlier ones. Does it come from the same factory?

All ML's, GL's and R's are made in the MB plant in Vance, Alabama USA.

I never looked at the BMW, but did consider the V10 TDI Touareg. However, I couldn't justify an additional US$10-15k for the extra HP and higher fuel usage.

Re: ML320 CDI

Hi Dutch,

Very nice vehicle. I think the the ML is superior to the VW 4X4 diesel. I have looked at both, and have friends with the VW - I suspect DB/DC has more going for it in the diesel world than does VW.  Nice choice in all respects.

Sharp looking truck! Did you test drive a gas? If so how does it compare?

No on the test drive, so I can't directly compare. I can tell you that the ML320CDI has more torque than the G500.
