Rubber Grommit part No -1982 W 460

I'm trying to identify the part no for the round Rubber grommet that closes the 4 large ( =- 20mm) holes in the cavity that connects the two rear light cavities. At the "height" of the bottom of the rear door.

If it is what I have pictured, it is part number A1169871444 (body plug). I ordered for my missing one.

Can't quite make out your picture - here is mine - the grommet is not seen in the pic buts its location is depicted by the arrow

I am almost postive what I posted is it. There are 4 of them. My first photo was taken behind the rear right tire (gasfill side) looking opposite, showing bumper to the rear and lower sill with 3 grommets and one missing.

here is one more photo if you are still unsure.

Peter, for what is worth, I had the same on my 1981 460 G, went to Caesar and back for these darn things. At the end I found that the lid of the old film spool container (the one that seals internally) with an O-ring fits perfectly. A bit of a H-Robinson .... but it works!

Have you asked someone at your nearest MB service center or an auto parts store if they have something that would fit? Amzimmy made a great point about using a film cannister. Hmm, I don't know why I didn't think of that.

Or what about going to your nearest hardware store and purchasing either plastic or rubber. Then fashion it into the size to plug the holes.

Ooh; just thought of something--go to your nearest college or university chemistry department and ask for some rubber corks or stoppers used to plug test tubes and flasks. These would work great too and eliminate using elbow grease to fashion the parts.
