| To Grille or Not to Grille?
I am getting more enamored with the thought of an S600 grille on my essentially-stock '98 S500. I like the look but in some ways also think that this is a somewhat artifical, vanity-based statement. Interested in your opinions AND just in case I do grille it, I'd appreciate info on sources for a quality product.

I grilled both my w140s, to me it up-dated the look of the cars. At first i called MB to see what an OEM S600 grill insert went for..... $700..... OUCH! so i went to www.performanceproducts4benz.com i got 2 S600 style grills. the shipping was fast, quality of the product was great. Iv have had them istaled for about 1 year now and have had no problems and they still look great. I would recomend it :D |

I concur with your thoughts. But, the S600 grill just looks so much nicer, visually lowers and widens the front. So, I looked all over for the lowest price, and found one for not the lowest price, but darn near,and from a place I've used many times before. Reputable, and I knew I could return it if NFG. It is very nice, I'm 100% happy, no probelms. Look up your year W140, but select S600 model at rockauto.com. I just did my '98 S420 last month, glad I did,and I almost never 'waste' $ on cosmetics, usually only required PM parts, etc. |
