Another G has been hit by a bomb in Afghanistan.
Here's a pic and a caption that came with it (haven't seen any pictures of the G involved yet):

Soldiers from the 1st Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry leave Gumbad Forward Operating Base nicknamed the Red Devil Inn , north of Kandahar, 23 April 2006, the day after four soldiers from the same deployment were killed by a roadside bomb. Canadian troops travelling 22 April in a convoy were returning from a patrol in Gumbad village of Shah Wali Kot district, some 75 kilometres 45 miles north of Kandahar when their armoured car was hit by a roadside bomb, Canadian military spokesman Mark McIntyre told AFP. RE: Afghanistan

Sad news once more.
What is the significance of a ghostly Vulcan in your images, I flew in XM 655.

Not about G's but my brother just returned from Iraq tour. He has 16 years in US Navy. They siad he was going back first of the year. He gave up retirement in 4 years and is getting out.
I told him that being the case, I have found another cheep yet bad shape G and will restore it for him for all his work...

The G involved was demolished completely - people on the ground said the explosive was big enough that even a fully armored vehicle may not have made it.

The G has already kept many safe though - when Canada went in they were all in unoarmored Iltises

There is a linky to news story in OT

The Canadians aren't the only ones in Afghanistan who use Gs. Here's prez Karzai in one.
