Hi,
i think 15" metal caps came with the special versions of the W123 such as 6 door long versions or plain "fahrgestelle" sold by factory for ambulance od hearse applications. Dur to increased weight these 123's came with 15" rims as standard and corresponding metal hubcaps, same design as used in 14"wheels in all W107 W114/114 and W116 but 15" diameter. I was lucky enough to see one of these (once ambulance, now mobile home) w123's in one of my trips to germany. hope this info will ease yor search
