Studebaker Boys

Did you ever wonder why Studebaker was chose to be the first distributor of Mercedes-Benz automobiles in the United States? The Studebakers were German immigrants who built wagons, watches and cars in South Bend, Indiana. I guess they still had plenty of influence in Germany.

It sure was handy for Studebaker dealers across the U.S.  Just as their bread-and-butter was fading into oblivion, here comes the best car brand in the world to take its place.  Oh, for the days when we could say that without qualification ...
