I can tell you where to order them, but at least one other member has had a problem with the source taking the money and not shipping anything. Until this is resolved one way or another, I'm reluctant to tell you to go there.

Do a search on Ebay.com (not Ebay.de) for "Mercedes G". There was another source selling them there.

RE: headlights

This from Ebay.de.

http://cgi.ebay.de/Mercedes-460-G-Modell-2-Klarglascheinwerfer-1Sat...

These are the lights you want. This guy used to have auctions on Ebay.com, although his prices are up some from where they were on Ebay.com. He is not the one I talked about earlier with delivery problems.

Re: headlights

i kinda like that "black headlights" referred to in that same auction. any opinions on these? i wouldn't think the output would be decreased significantly, if at all.

link to the black set:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=de_en...

i think i'll try these(on black truck). funny, the lights my truck now are blacked out but thats because they both burned out and the smoke left them black. they burned out while doing some "muddin'" when one headlight must have gone underwater for a second, dunno.

Are you looking for these one? .................They come from the new VW Golf.......they just need a bit of fiddle with the bracket but they fit perfectly (on the 460 Model).

RE: headlights

I confirm the VW golf fit, thats what I have, If you look closer you will see those notches are holding a shield in place.

Got you thinking.... ....They are ststeel pins to hook the "Bush ropes" two ststeel 4mm ropes attached to the roof rack and fasten to the two lugs/pins with rope tensioners.

Are the stoneguards something you made or are they off the shelf?

Dai, the stoneguards I have made myself.
Basically it's very simple, I had some disks cut from 4mm Polycarbon sheeting,
than modified some U-Clips (50mm)
and fix them with a drop of Cyno to the disk.
You have to remove the Head lamp trim to fit the Stoneguards.

Stoneguards

Amzimmy,

Thanks for posting the detail of How You Did It! Excellent idea and execution. I will be on the hunt for clips like that and a source of polycarbonate. I have lost a few H4 lenses to rocks here and these are better than the motorcycle guards that I've seen. Those use little sticky velcro dots to fix the poly lens to the glass front. Cheesy and not enough space between to shield a direct hit. Full marks for that solution, man. Thanks again,
