I use brushes like these:

Then when I'm done I always complain about swirl marks.

I use bath towels too to dry it off.

Brushes?  On the wheels, okay.  On the tires, fine.  Otherwise

I use cotton bath towels to dry mine off too.  It's fine really.

What's good to put on the sunroof seal?  Mine's deteriorated and the dealer won't replace it under warranty. They say it actually has to be leaking.  BTW I spend much more time cleaning the car than driving it.  Right now I have it near an ultimate-level condition and I'm afraid to take it out of the garage

I vacuum the interior at least once a month of that counts for anything. I "shampoo" the carpets and clean and condition the plastics and leather at least once a year.

RE: I'm a hypocrite

I use the touchless carwash. It sprays on two layers of soap that eats away the dirt film, then it has 2 high pressure rinses and a spot free rinse.

Leather really should be done each month IMO.

With regards to sunroof I'm pretty sure some of those rubber seal regenerators that you find at hardware stores would do the trick.

If the sunroof seal is just rubber try Gummi Pfledge - works a treat on conditioning rubber seals.

Are you talking about the rubber seal around the sunroof glass? Or the felt/fabric seal around the sunroof opening?

The felt/fabric around the opening.

Was contemplating using shoe polish on it

^^

When i have gotten wax on mine.(turns white) I usually use a washcloth with diluted fabric/carpet cleaner "Meguiar's quick out". If that doesn't work have them replace it.That's one of the easiest seals to replace.(for the sunroof) .

RE: I'm a hypocrite

There's no wax on it or anything, it's just deteriorated.  And I refuse to pay for replacement since the car is under warranty!

As I noted above, the dealer refuses to replace it.  They're so inconsistent about these things.

The driver's seat in my E350 started to get discolored, as though the leather dye were wearing out, and they replaced the entire seat without question.

RE: I'm a hypocrite

Wow thats some sad MB service. Sadly I've had the same.

If it were me,  I'd magically have air noise in the sunroof area, why the sunroof is closed. Do you have a factory or extended warranty?

RE: I'm a hypocrite

It's factory warranty, but nearing the end of the 4-year period.  The E350 was still in its first year; maybe that explains the difference in treatment.

Thanks why I always do the wheels last, I start at the top back of the car where the least dirt is and work forward and down to the more dirty parts.
