Mechanic did wonders for my G

I took my G in to have the valves adjusted, carb tuned and rear wheel bearings installed.
I got the kit for the rear from 4x4.
He did everything else but on the instructions inside the kit it says you have to drill and break off a retainind pressure fitted sleeve. He looked in the kit and did not find any sleeve that was like what they were saying had to be broken off.
Anyone ever run into this ?
He di do a great job on everything else.
The carb was really junked up and lucky me he had a brand new one there just needed a new diaphram that he installed for $100 as he said no one else but some idiot running a junk "JEEP" would need one of these. He was joking he loves the G just likes to BS with friends.
Anyway if someone has knowledge about replacing the bearings please yell
